It is estimated that 2.5 billion of the world’s adults, which is about 20% of the global population, do not use banks or microfinance institutions for saving or borrowing money. India has the world’s second-highest unbanked population, with the majority being women. The Financial Inclusion Index of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) suggests that there is a need to enhance financial literacy to create a more robust financial ecosystem by bringing the unbanked and underbanked people in India into the formal banking system. India has the highest share of inactive bank accounts in the world. Efforts are being made to improve digital financial inclusion, and there is a need to boost financial literacy, which is essential for the development of the economy. An ecosystem is being developed with the support of individuals and institutions, aiming to promote financial inclusion by raising awareness and empowering entrepreneurship. The goal is to improve the socioeconomic status and build the capacity for managing income independently among unbanked women micro-entrepreneurs in India and other Afro-Asian countries who lack financial resources and knowledge by helping them understand and practice financial management, ultimately enabling them to strengthen their social position. The objective is for every woman to achieve financial independence and make personal financial decisions. This unique model helps improve the socioeconomic status of entire families in the long term.
